In line with our Buyer and Seller Policy, we do not permit Shilling on TerraShops. Shilling can be done in a variety of ways which are as follows:

- Where a seller agrees with a friend or family member to buy a product and leave a biased, fake, or untruthful positive review.
- Where a seller offers to a third party, free or significantly reduced items, samples, money, or other compensation, to purchase and leave a biased, fake, or untruthful positive review.
- A situation where a seller creates or uses other accounts pretending to be an independent buyer to take fake, untruthful or biased action on the original account – this includes purchasing a product, and leaving a biased review for the original account.

Friends and family transactions

As long as transactions between friends and family reflect an honest, original and unbiased opinion of the buyer, they do not constitute shilling. Such transactions must meet the following criteria:

- The transaction must occur on TerraShops;

- The buyer and seller may not share a material connection – this includes a shared bank account, credit card, or financial interest in the shop being reviewed);

- The buyer must not be compensated for the review, unless this is available to all buyers (an examples is offering a discount on next buy for leaving a honest review);

- The sole objective of the transaction must not be to leave a review.

Below are a few Shilling resources. We encourage you to go through them as they are very helpful in knowing more about Shilling and other similar practices:
